“Just spent the most wonderfully relaxing weekend in Bushland Villa.  Wow!  We wanted to completely chill out & relax in luxurious surroundings & that is exactly what we got.  Could not have asked for better.  As many previous reviewers have commented, the villas are exactly as they appear on the website – beautifully appointed & perfectly laid out & the views are equisite.

All the views are stunning but I would say that Bushland has a better location over Ironstone in that the view is completely uninterrupted from every window.

The wildlife has to be seen to be believed – kangaroos, emus, kookaburra’s, deer (and 1 cheeky fox) all just happily going about their business right in front of your eyes.

To wake up in the morning surrounded by the stunning views & the gorgeous wildlife is something truly unique.  We had breakfast at Harvest both mornings, literally a 3 minute walk from the villa & absolutely delicious.  If you’re from Melbourne then this is the place for you, great coffee, good menu.  We had dinner both nights at the Kookaburra Hotel – first night was excellent, 2nd night pretty average so it was a bit hit & miss.  If you are going to go – do take their advice & book ahead.

Harvest offer a take home pack with breads, dips, cheese & main meal if you want to stay in & if we are every lucky enough to come back I would definitely try that option.  We did the Pinnacle Walk from the Wonderland Carpark – highly recommended!  About a ten minute drive to get to the starting point & then a good 2 & a half hours to walk up & back.  It’s brutal but the views from the top are phenomenal.  If you have hiking boots bring them, we walked it in runners which was fine but just needed extra care as the rocks were dusty & it was easy to lose your footing.

Next day we did the McKenzie Falls walk – again highly recommended (runners are fine for this one) but be warned the drive to get there is reasonably long & there is absolutely no signage along the way to give you any indication of how far you still have to go.  Don’t give up!  Just stay on the road & you’ll get there!  Afternoons were spent in front of the fire (quite possibly my favourite thing of the whole experience & there was plenty of competition for top spot!)  with a glass of wine, cheese & bread – awesome!  Would happily spend every weekend here – it is just gorgeous!”
